“Come, follow me.” — Matthew 4:19

OCIC

What is OCIC?

The Order of Christian Initiation of Children (OCIC) is the process by which children who are of are of catechetical age (generally considered to be around 7 years old and older) are welcomed into full communion with the Roman Catholic Church.

It is also intended for those who are unbaptized, baptized in another Christian tradition, or baptized Catholics who have not yet received the Sacraments of Confirmation and Holy Eucharist.

Through formation, the children are educated in the Catholic faith and prepared to receive the Sacraments of InitiationBaptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist—which unite us fully with Christ and His Church.

After Baptism (for the unbaptized), the children are also invited to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, a powerful gift of God’s mercy and spiritual healing.
