“Love one another as I have loved you.”
— John 15:12
Marriage in the Catholic Church is more than a celebration—it's a sacred vocation. Through this sacrament, a man and woman become a visible sign of Christ’s love, united in a lifelong covenant of faith, fidelity, and grace. Whether you’re preparing for your wedding day or seeking to deepen your spiritual bond, we’re here to accompany you every step of the way.
Congratulations on your Engagement!
We are so happy for you and are keeping you in our prayers as you begin this sacred journey together. Your decision to enter into the Sacrament of Marriage is a beautiful response to God's call to love—and we are honored to walk with you during this joyful time.
At St. Catherine's, we share in your excitement as you prepare not only for your wedding day, but more importantly, for a lifelong, faith-filled marriage. Our marriage preparation process is thoughtfully designed to support and guide you in both.
Here you willl find helpful information about how the preparation process works at our parish.
Preparing for Your Catholic Wedding
We’re honored to accompany you as you prepare for the Sacrament of Marriage.
Whether you're planning a Wedding Mass or Ceremony in the Church, or you're having your wedding at a venue and seeking the Church’s guidance, we are here to support you every step of the way. Reach out to the parish office at least one year of your desired wedding date. This gives ample time for preparation and paperwork. We require that one be a registered parishioner and attending Mass for six months.
To get started, give us a call at (732) 938-5375 or fill out the inquiry form below. We'll schedule a meeting with our Pastor for an initial conversation to discuss your plans, answer your questions, and help you begin the year-long preparation process. A wedding date can only be scheduled after meeting with our pastor to complete the initial canonical requirements.
These steps are designed to help you grow together in faith and strengthen the foundation of your lifelong commitment.
“And over all these put on love, that is, the bond of perfection.”
— Colossians 3:14
If yo're a Catholic who was married outside the Church, you’ve already made a meaningful commitment to each other. Now, you may feel called to take the next step—by inviting Christ more fully into your marriage through the Sacrament of Matrimony.
Whether you're ready to begin the process or simply want to explore your options, we’re here to walk with you.
We’d be honored to help you take this beautiful next step in your faith journey.
