Jubilee Year of Mercy Event
On Saturday, March 19th there will be a great event that is open to people from all across the Diocese. This event is one of the opportunities to celebrate the Jubilee Year of Mercy and take part in several of the steps needed to receive the Plenary Indulgence from our Bishop. The celebration will take place at St Joseph Parish in Toms River from 8:30 am to 4 pm. There will be speakers in both English and Spanish: Msgr. Sam Sirianni and Fr. Mick Lambeth on the English side and Fr. Carlos Aguirre and Rev. René Pulgarín for the Spanish track. The themed presentations will take place in the morning. After lunch, Bishop O’Connell will lead the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and a procession from the school to the church to pray the Chaplet of Divine Mercy. People will be asked to complete all of the requirements for the Indulgence and they will be encouraged to participate in the Palm Sunday celebrations in their parishes. Confessions will be offered during the day and there will be a procession with the Blessed Sacrament (a short walk through the parking lot). The fee of $10 per person will be collected on the day of the event, and used to cover the boxed lunch.
