Prepare for a Pilgrimage

Prepare for a Pilgrimage

One of the best ways to prepare for a pilgrimage is to give selflessly of yourself to others. Not only does this help others in need, but it also trains us to think outside of ourselves (something good to know on a pilgrimage surrounded by hundreds of people). Using your time and talents to help others is the best way to avoid getting too wrapped up in yourself and to prepare a selfless heart for pilgrimage.

Make time for quiet times with Our Lady. Do regular rosaries to Our Lady that she may help you hear the voice of her Son, that you may know his will in your life. Sit in silence with our Lord more regularly in adoration that you may love Him as Our Mother, Our Lady of Guadalupe, does. St. Catherine of Siena Parish offers adoration every First Friday after the 9:00 am mass in the Chapel ending with Benediction at 11:00 am. Other churches in the area also offer adoration at other times. Check their websites for further information.

Train for the procession to the cathedral on December 1, 2018. If you walk the entire way, starting at Immaculate Conception Church, you will be walking for almost four (4) miles. You do not have to do the entire walk, but you are encouraged to join others in the Diocese for at least part of the walk. Starting at St. Anthony Church is approximately two and ½ miles and starting at St. Joseph Church is approximately a mile and a half from the cathedral.
